Leeuwarden will be the scenery of some new playing venues.
12 mei 2011The programme has been arranged. More than 300 performances – 10 of which are national opening perfomances – can be attended on May 27-28-29 in the city centre of Leeuwarden. We arranged 7 new playing locations, in some very special courtyards. Beautiful hidden courtyards will be especially opened to the public to create a more intimate atmosphere.

10 mei 2011Froe Froe Theatre proves that puppet play is not only a joy to the little ones, certainly not. These 2 brothers from Antwerp (Jan and Marc Maillard) have done so many creative things already, that will definitely influence their puppet play so that even grown ups will enjoy their show. Choreography, scenography, techniques and sculptures. Does that really differ from puppets and masks? While making the puppets they make sure to work with clockwork precision. “We certainly do magnify some specific characteristics but at the same we want to keep the beauty of the puppet in mind”.

Fries StraatFestival 2011
From Friday 27 until Sunday 29 May the beautiful historic town centre of Leeuwarden is dominated by theatre and music. Like previous years there will be a variety of national as well as international acts. More than three hundred shows of which ten national premières can be admired at 47 locations. New are the seven special gardens. Hidden gardens are open and serve as a beautiful scenery for the more intimate shows.
